Bidding Prayers

Bidding Prayers for the 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time
St. Paul’s Parish

Priest: Putting our trust in the Lord, let us call upon his blessings this Sunday with confidence and hope.

Reader: Response: Hear our prayer.

  1. We pray for the Universal Church, may we all strive to be the people of the beatitudes, enduring hardships with our eyes fixed on eternal happiness. Father of mercy, R.
  2. We pray for the poor, the sick, the lonely and those who weep, may the Holy Spirit grant them consolation and Christians come to their assistance. Father of mercy, R.
  3. We pray for the atheists, hardened sinners and those who do not know Christ, may they open their heart to the Good News of the Risen Saviour. Father of mercy, R.
  4. We pray for all who are struggling with addictions, may the Passion of our Lord be their source of strength, as they learn to look with hope to the kingdom of God. Father of mercy, R.
  5. For those who are away from home, we pray especially for refugees and migrants, may the Spirit of the beatitudes strengthen them and remind them that we are only pilgrims marching towards our heavenly homeland. Father of mercy, R.

Priest: Eternal Father, You have put the desire for happiness in our hearts and only You can satisfy it, may your grace keep us untroubled through the droughts of this life until we possess You in heaven. We ask this through Christ our lord.
